They hear of her journey from Louisiana to the French capital, how she falls in love with a jazz club owner and the battles and adversity she must face living in Nazi-occupied Paris during the Second World War. But Bricktop's story has another agenda: she beseeches Ariadne and Branston to track down her estranged daughter and assure Bricktop that the hardest decision she ever had to make was the right one.
