Would it be better to tell a lie, and say something nice, rather than tell the truth and hurt someone's feelings? Is it better to keep a secret, if the truth hurt a lot of people? If your family is ripped apart because of a horrible crime that was committed, would you cover it up and tell lies because the truth would be even more devastating? These are questions that I faced. I asked questions and did research. I was shocked to learn the truth, then I realized that I was one of the people that would be hurt by the truth. My friends and family would say "Don't be a tattletale, don't be a snitch, let sleeping dogs lie, and some things are better left unsaid' etc. I've decided to tell the truth, no matter how horrible it is, or how many people get hurt.
