Besides being pretty, intelligent and courageous, Yoko Tsuno is an electronics engineer. In this first volume of a new series, Yoko is called to the bedside of her friend Ingrid, who is struck down by a mysterious disease that leaves her powerless. Yoko soon realizes that a strange vampire, dressed all in black, shadows her.
Born on 17 November, 1933 in Verviers, Belgium, it was while working for Hergé that Roger Leloup started in the graphic novel world. During his 15 years at the Hergé studios, he was involved notably in the drawing of Alix and Tintin adventures. In December 1969, Leloup left the Studios Hergé to work fulltime on his own series, Yoko Tsuno, which focuses on technology and science fiction. Leloup is a pure perfectionist student of the Hergé School, as gifted in writing as in drawing, and he creates real jewels with his graphic novels. In 1990, he received the 'Science-Fiction Award' in the 'Youth' category for his first novel, 'Le Pic des Ténčbres' (The Peak of Darkness). He resides in Belgium.
