The Conceptual Foundations of the Statistical Approach in Mechanics, Paperback

In this concise classic, Paul Ehrenfest ― one of the twentieth century's greatest physicists ― reformulated the foundations of the statistical approach in mechanics. A major figure in 20th-century science, Paul Ehrenfest (1880-1933) was an Austrian physicist and mathematician who reformulated the statistical approach in mechanics. His wife, Tatiana Ehrenfest (1876-1964), was also a mathematician who collaborated on his scientific work.
